Philippine payroll deserves software that was built for it.
Semi-monthly cutoffs. Night differential. Thirteenth month. Two holiday classes with different multipliers. An MPF split above a salary credit ceiling. Alphalist and 2316 at year end. Most systems treat these as a localisation layer bolted onto a foreign payroll engine. Here they are the engine.
What we hold to
Every peso traces back to something you can look at
A payslip figure that cannot be explained is a figure nobody trusts. Pay derives from punches, punches derive from a person at a place at a time, and each step is visible. The payroll calculator is a pure function of its inputs, so an old payslip can be reproduced exactly when someone questions it.
The government tables are the product
SSS changes its schedule, PhilHealth its premium, BIR its brackets. Every table carries an effectivity date, so this year is right and last year still adds up. Re-running a 2024 period in 2026 uses the 2024 numbers, because that is what was actually withheld.
Plain words, for people who did not ask for software
Most people who open an HR system are not HR. They want to know whether their leave was approved and what lands in their account. Staff get four screens and need no training. The jargon stays where it belongs — on the filings.
Say what it does not do
The features page carries a "not yet" list. Being straight about the edges costs less than a surprise on your first cutoff.
Where it came from
NextHR is built and run by Nextcore Technology Inc. in Quezon City. It started as the system we needed ourselves — a consultancy with more contractors than regular staff, semi-monthly cutoffs, and filings that do not forgive a rounding error.
That shaped what is here. Contractors are a first-class idea rather than an employee with a flag: no statutory contributions, expanded withholding instead of the compensation table, output VAT where the contractor is registered, and their own BIR return. Companies are first-class too, because a group with two registered entities files two sets of returns.
We use it to pay our own people. When a cutoff is wrong, we find out the same day you would.
